We realise that searching for the product that you want on some shopping sites can be slow so we have designed the STITCH1KNIT1 site to be quick, easy and intuitive to use.

Stitch1Knit1 is split into four departments:

• Needlework
• Hand Knitting Yarns
• Rug Making
• Accessories

There are several different searches available to find the product that you are looking for:

The simplest is the KEYWORD search, type some information about the product you looking for in the keyword search box (this could be a subject like "big cats" or "ballet" or a manufacture name) and click on the search button, this will return a list of products that match your criteria. Using the drop down selection list to the side of the keyword search box you can restrict the range of the results o specific departments. Clicking any of the product links will enable you to find out more information about the products and add them to your shopping bag.

What other ways can I search Stitch1Knit1?

Each department is split into a number of sections. When you click on a department tab at the top of the page the sections listed underneath and down the left side in the browse box change to show what's available. In the Needlework department this is Cross Stitch, Needlepoint, Embroidery, Long Stitch, and so on. Selecting one of these sections updates the left side browse box to show the manufactures or products available to browse in that section. By clicking on the links you can navigate to the manufacturer product range pages and product detail pages.

When you have found an item that you would like to buy simply click the 'add' button next the product details and you will see it added to your shopping bag. You can carry on shopping by clicking the 'continue shopping' button which will take you back to the shopping pages. When you have finished shopping you can buy the items by clicking on the 'proceed to check out' link by the shopping bag at the top of the page. You'll be asked to provide us with your delivery address. Your order will be summarised so you can check or change the details and only when you confirm the order will we ask for your payment details.

We understand however that you may prefer not to submit potentially sensitive information in this way so you can select the items you require and place your order by telephoning our sales line on 01483 450 903. (+44 1483 450 903 for international calls). In addition to the above you can also pay by cheque.

Cheques must be drawn on a UK bank and made payable in pounds sterling to "STITCH1KNIT1". Please be sure to write your e-mail address and cheque guarantee card number on the reverse of the cheque. When paying by this method we will process your order as soon as we receive and clear your cheque, this will unfortunately slow down the dispatch time. When we receive your order we will send you a confirmation by e-mail. For credit card transactions we aim to ship orders on the same day if they are received before 3.00 pm GMT (Monday - Friday), or next business day if they are received later or at the weekend. In the event that we can't ship your order immediately we will notify you by email with an anticipated delivery time.

At STITCH1KNIT1 we charge postage according to the weight of the items ordered and the delivery destination. The charge is calculated according to the Royal Mail 1st Class postal service and the amount you will be charged is displayed during the check out process. The minimum postage charge is £1.50.

Whilst shopping online before confirming your order you can cancel part or all of it at anytime. To delete an item from your shopping bag set the quantity to zero and click the recalculate button.

We aim to process your order as quickly as possible. If you have used the online checkout and submitted your card details it is likely that we have already dispatched the order. Call our sales team on 0845 601 8827 or email sales@stitch1knit1.com to see if it is still possible to cancel your order at any stage. If it is too late you will receive your order, you can return the item(s) you ordered up to 30 days from the date you placed it for a complete refund. Provided we receive your order before 3.00 pm GMT we aim to ship it on the same day. All orders are sent 1^st class delivery by Royal Mail so if you are a UK customer it is likely that you will receive it the following day.

We stock the vast majority of products offered on STITCH1KNIT1 at all times. Where an item may take longer for delivery, we indicate this in the items details. In the event that an item is unavailable, we will advise you by telephone or email of any delay. If we can't fulfil a multiple order we will make a part dispatch of the items in stock and will forward the remainder at no extra delivery cost when they become available.

STITCH1KNIT is a UK company and is required by law to collect Value Added Tax (VAT). This means that customers resident in the fiscal VAT territory of the European Community (EC) are generally subject to VAT at 17.5% on the price of items purchased. The prices shown on STITCH1KNIT1 are, where applicable, inclusive of VAT. A few items such as some publications are zero-rated.

If you are resident outside the fiscal VAT territory of the EC then you do not pay VAT. When you place an order the checkout process will check the country part of your address and deduct the VAT from the prices.
